Bringing peace of mind to the people of Tuscaloosa, Walker and surrounding counties.

L. Kenneth Elmer

Ken Elmer has been a practicing bankruptcy attorney since graduating from law school in 2008.  While attending college at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Ken interned in Washington, D.C. for a Congressman and saw firsthand how the laws that directly impact people's finances are created.  Also while in college, Ken worked full time for a collections firm.  There Ken learned the tactics by which creditors pursue clients. It was at this time when he resolved to pursue a career helping people in financial distress.

Following college, Ken studied at Samford University's Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham.  While in school, Ken served as Treasurer of The Federalist Society and was on the Dean's List.  After graduating in 2008, Ken was admitted to the Alabama State Bar as well as all three United States District Courts in the State.  From there, he clerked for the highly respected bankruptcy attorney Linda Burns, in Jasper.  Following that clerkship, Ken worked for the Birmingham based firm of Bond, Botes, Reese & Shinn, one of the preeminent bankruptcy firms in the Southeast.  Since founding the Elmer Law Firm, Ken now strives to provide the highest quality legal services to the people of Tuscaloosa and all of West Alabama.

Ken has appeared on WVUA’s Law Call weekly television program hosted by Lynn Brooks as special guest expert on their Consumer Bankruptcy program.

When not working, Ken enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, as well as watching the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Philadelphia Phillies play.  Ken also enjoys reading, fishing, and is involved with his church.
